The most anticipated appointment with flamenco already has an official program. Sara Baras, in front of her ballet, will inaugurate the XXVIII Festival de Jerez on February 23 at the Villamarta Theater; Manuela Carrasco will close it with an absolute premiere on March 9.

The great dancer Sara Baras will kick off the XXVIII Festival de Jerez on February 23. He will do it at the Villamarta Theater, the main stage of the exhibition, where he will premiere his new show.
In this same scenario, artists such as La Moneta, Joaquín Grilo, Beatriz Morales and Agujeta Chico, or Manuela Carrasco will present their latest assembly on her farewell tour, which will be in charge of closing the contest.
The Watchtower Museums and the Sala Compañía will reopen their doors one more year to host about twenty shows. Both scenarios include different cycles that mix the presentation of new values with more transgressive proposals or fused with other disciplines.
This 28th edition also moves to the Villavicencio Palace, located inside the Alcázar de Jerez. Another scenario will be the Bodegas González-Byass.
The XXVIII Festival de Jerez -whose tickets go on sale on October 19- has the institutional collaboration of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport; and the Ministry of Culture and Sports, through Inaem; and the Diputación de Cádiz; the sponsorship of González-Byass; and the collaboration of the Cajasol Foundation, CajaSur and the Jerez Regulatory Council.

The novelty of the Festival de Jerez 2024: Flamenco Vermouth
Karen Lugo, José Maldonado and Juan Gómez Chicuelo will inaugurate the programming of the Watchtower Museums with Three pieces, included in the cycle Vermouth Flamenco: Muy Personal, new cycle of this flamenco contest. The aforementioned cycle of “vermouth” enhances the playful and participatory side of the Festival de Jerez 2024, in addition to its relationship with the wineries of the city, around a Jerez vermouth at the time of the aperitif.
Tres piezas is a music and dance project that builds bridges in that triad that makes up the body, mind and spirit.
The Maui Show (Sundays of vermouth and stew) even goes further, since it will transport spectators to the most traditional celebrations around a pot of stew. A unique proposal, because it mixes flamenco with theater and humor.
We can also enjoy the harp of the Jerez Ana Crisman (Arpaora) and the artistic versatility that always brings the company Nómada that, under the direction and dramaturgy of Juana Casado, will stage Atrapados.
As complementary activities of this cycle Vermouth Flamenco: Very Personal include the screening of documentaries.

In the Villavicencio Palace, located inside the Alcázar de Jerez, you can listen to the singing without acoustic amplification of Rocío Luna, last winner of the Mining Lamp of La Unión, in addition to the cantaoras virtues of Bernardo Rubichi, Pedro Montoya El Chanquita and Jesús Corbacho.
The Sala Compañía is devoted to the guitars of two Jerezanos: José Quevedo Bolita (with his new album Fértil) and Juan Diego Mateos, who presents Una promesa, his fourth album.
In the Villavicencio Palace, located inside the Alcázar de Jerez, you can listen to the singing without acoustic amplification of Rocío Luna, last winner of the Mining Lamp of La Unión, in addition to the cantaoras virtues of Bernardo Rubichi, Pedro Montoya El Chanquita and Jesús Corbacho. At the stroke of midnight, the voices of José de los Camarones, Luis Moneo -who will present his album Metal fundío– and El Pele will sound. And from singing he goes to the guitar by including Rafael Riqueni in this scenic space.
