Flamenco Tablao 1911 (formerly Villa Rosa)
Located in a beautiful historic building, the one known as Villa Rosa (at Calle Santa Ana, 15), is what is considered the oldest flamenco tablao in the world, yes, in the world! Hollywood stars such as Ava Gardner or Frank Sinatra have passed through it, enjoying the flamenco party until the wee hours of the morning. With more than 100 years of history, in a beautiful place decorated with antique ceramics, the magic of the live flamenco show takes place almost daily. Flamenco singing and dancing are accompanied by the opportunity to have tapas at the bar or dine in the restaurant with delicious dishes such as garlic prawns or a good Iberian ham. Antonio Canales, the great dancer from Seville, is very involved with this Madrid tablao, which he calls "the cathedral of flamenco". Tickets are between 20-30 €.

Tablao flamenco Cardamomo
This is one of the most emblematic places in Madrid as far as flamenco shows are concerned, although it is not, by far, of a great tradition, since it was inaugurated in 1994. Cardamomo is known for its intimate atmosphere in which you can meet flamenco artists who mingle with customers, customers who, by the way, tend to be mostly foreigners. You can enjoy live performances by renowned flamenco dancers and singers, but also more modern flamenco artists and emerging talents. For dinner, you can choose from 6 types of menus and, of course, with Iberian ham as the protagonist (Calle Echegaray, 15). Antonio Carmona, for example, is one of the stars of the flamenco firmament who are regulars at Cardamomo. Prepare a minimum of 39 €.

Corral de la Morería
Besides being a tablao with a lot of history and deserved fame -with numerous awards for both the tablao and its programming-, it is also the only one with a Michelin Star for its restaurant. And if that were not enough excuse to visit it, it is also included in the list of the book "1000 places to see before you die". Located in the heart of Madrid (Calle Morería, 17), since its opening in 1956, this tablao has been the stage for performances by some of the best flamenco dancers and singers in the world, and what's more, Paco de Lucía's "Entre dos aguas" was presented here. With an elegant decoration and a magical atmosphere, it offers first class shows that combine tradition and avant-garde. Reservations are essential because it is usually full,... but also of stars: Benicio del Toro, Justin Bieber, Demi Moore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hugh Grant, are just some of them. The entrance with a drink costs 49,95 €.

Taberna El Cortijo
El Cortijo is a little different from the tablaos we have presented so far. It is a flamenco tavern dedicated to the purest style of this Andalusian art (Calle Josefa Díaz, 4). What is captivating about this place is its authenticity and traditional spirit. Here, the passion for flamenco is in the air and is reflected in every gesture, in every palm and in every groan. The artists who perform at El Cortijo are recognized both nationally and internationally, guaranteeing a show of exceptional quality, authentic paellas, Iberian ham, homemade croquettes and a selection of Spanish cheeses, among other delicious dishes. The tavern prides itself on using traditional recipes transformed from generation to generation. And from 20 € with a drink.

This tablao in Madrid (Calle Mesonero Romanos, 11) is a historic flamenco venue that deserves to be the closing of this report. The decoration of the place is inspired by the Alhambra in Granada, which gives a unique atmosphere to enjoy its music, dance and singing. Over the years, Torres Bermejas has witnessed the performance of numerous renowned flamenco artists. It has hosted great figures such as La Niña de los Peines, Camarón de la Isla, Paco de Lucía and many other outstanding personalities of the flamenco world.
