Pedro el Granaíno, from Granada to the World
Pedro el Graníno is one of the cantaores with the most prolific career of all, his perseverance in his work and his desire to excel have led him to perform all over the world. We get to know him in depth in a new post in our blog.

Pedro Heredia Reyes, whose artistic name is Pedro "El Granaíno", is a gypsy singer born in Granada in 1973. He moved to Seville at the age of 18 and years later he joined the Farrucos family artistically, accompanying them with his voice in their dance shows, thus making his great talent known.
"Al natural", "De Farruca a Faraona", "Los Farrucos", "Puro", "Sonerías", "Mi Herencia", "Baile Flamenco" and "Homenaje a los Grandes" are some of the shows that have consecrated him as a cantaor of temper and strength. In 2012 he debuted as a soloist at the Festival de Jerez, where he was so highly praised by the public and critics that he ended up performing at the Bienal de Sevilla that same year.
His singing has travelled the world in front of international audiences, and he has performed in New York, Los Angeles, London, Istanbul, Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Mexico and Miami. He has collaborated with great musicians such as Tomatito; and with singers such as Estrella Morente, Enrique Morente and Alejandro Sanz.
He is selected to be the main artist of the show "Eterno Camarón", where he has the opportunity to perform the songs of Camarón de la Isla, a master he admires and who undoubtedly has a clear influence on him.
His very personal style makes him unique within his flamenco style.
In 2013, Pedro El Granaino was awarded second prize at the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco de Córdoba, one of the most beautiful moments of his career.
The nuances of his throat, the way he interprets the cantes, his respect for the classics, his temper and his strength and that unmistakable voice that he possesses, has led him to be sought after by flamenco clubs and festivals, and in this way he has participated in festivals such as the Festival Algurugú, Las Aguzaderas, or Mont de Marsan, the latter being where he presents his show "Metales" together with his partner José Valencia.
"Metales" is the recording of his first album, a work of classic cante based on the work of Tomás Pavón, Chacón, Chocolate, la Niña de los Peines, Camarón.
At the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla in 2016, he established himself as an artist and as the leading figure in gypsy singing of the new generation of flamenco. In 2017 he was awarded the special prize of El Público de Flamenco Radio and collaborated in the awards gala broadcast by Canal Sur Television, presenting his very personal interpretation of the tientos de la Leyenda del Tiempo by Federico Garcia Lorca.
He also collaborated in the album of the guitar master Vicente Amigo "Memoria de mis sentidos", specifically in the themes of "Requiem" and "Cuatro Lunas" and it is during this year, when the latter became one of the most downloaded and listened to on digital platforms.
In 2020 he presents "Granaíno jondo", a show where he puts on stage the experiences he has had and above all his evolution over time. At the same time he prepares the recording of his first album.
