We take a look at the biography of bailaor David Coria before his upcoming debut at the Seville Flamenco Biennial

The dancer, born in 1983, studied at the Conservatorio Profesional de Danza in Seville, his homeland. He was taught by great masters such as José Antonio, Eva Yerbabuena, Paco Fabra, Carlos Robles, Lola Mesa, Aurora Bosh, José Granero, Juana Amaya, Aída Gómez, Belén Fernández and Ana María Bueno.
In 1998 she joined the Taller Flamenco de la Compañía Andaluza de Danza directed by José Antonio. She has worked with other renowned figures such as María del Mar Moreno, Juana "la del Pipa", Milagros Mengíbar.
Two years later, in 2000, she joined the company of Aída Gómez. She also took part in Salomé, a film directed by Carlos Saura. In 2001 he joined the Spanish National Ballet, where he performed in numerous shows, as well as in several solo performances.
As a choreographer and dancer he has left his mark in Rafaela Carrasco's company in several productions such as Vamos al tiroteo, which was awarded Best Choreography by the Bienal de Flamenco in 2008. Espiral is his first solo production, which he premiered in 2014 at the Festival de Danza Española y Flamenco de Jerez, together with the dancer Ana Morales.
His third solo work Anónimo received the Audience Award at the 23rd edition of the Festival de Jerez.
In the middle of the pandemic, he took part in a gala organised by Antonio Canales, and for safety reasons all the participants danced from their own homes.
In 2021 he presents at the 25th Festival de Jerez, "Fandango!", a tour with the singing of David Lagos.
In 2022, with the return to the stage as normal, David Coria has in store for us the premiere of "De lo Humano" at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, with the co-production of the Festival de Itálica, the Diputación de Sevilla, the Bienal de Danza de Lyon and the Théâtre de Nimes, among other institutions,

2013 first Dancer, Repeater and Choreographer of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía.
2016 best Male Performer in Flamenco Dance at the Academia Artes Escénicas de Andalucía Award.
2019 Audience Award at the 23rd Festival de Jerez for the show Anónimo.
2021 Critics Award at the Festival de Jerez.
