In one of the best editions of the Festival de la Guitarra de Córdoba, the cantaor of the moment, Israel Fernández, who is demonstrating his talent with success after success, was not missing. His interview, in this video.
Israel Fernández presented Pura Sangre
Tradition and avant-garde are present in Pura Sangre, the title of his recent work and also of the concert that Israel Fernández showed at this festival. An introspective work in which Israel discovers his way of feeling and relating to his closest universe: family, gypsy culture, love, nature, human values and his deepest self.
Explains the “singer-songwriter” who composes each of the lyrics and melodies of this work. He does so from that firm and broad base in registers that he inherits from tradition and to which he contributes the creativity with which he has been dazzling the world of flamenco, both in his recordings and in his live performances.
He is accompanied in this project by the Jerez-born Diego del Morao, one of today’s most influential guitarists. Ané Carrasco, on percussion and keyboards, and Marcos Carpio and Pirulo, on hand-clapping.
