One of the most prestigious flamenco events in the world is back. The Festival of Jerez celebrates its 27th edition between 24 February and 11 March 2023 with around 46 top-level shows.

And it is so important that many artists take advantage of these dates to premiere their shows. On this occasion, the festival will showcase 13 performances for the first time.

Among the artists who will perform at this year’s edition are leading dancers such as María Pagés, Israel Galván, Patricia Guerrero, Rafaela Carrasco, Olga Pericet and Marco Flores, among other greats.

The singing will be performed by emblematic figures. For example, by Esperanza Fernández, Vicente Soto, Pepe de Pura, Londro, Perrate or La Macanita.

On the guitar, a magical moment will be experienced due to the celebration of the 45th anniversary of the Jerez-born guitarist Gerardo Núñez on stage. José Luis Montón, Trio Arjé & Canit and Manuel Valencia are scheduled to perform.

In addition to these actions, there is a wide range of 40 courses and workshops, with an 81% occupancy rate for the almost 1,000 places on offer. In addition, among the complementary activities, a tribute to the figure of the recently deceased photographer Javier Fergo is being organised, through an exhibition of his work related to the event.

The most flamenco year?

Arturo Bernal, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport of the Junta de Andalucía, has been at the official presentation of this XXVII Festival de Jerez 2023 and has commented that we are in “the year of culture, but, above all, of flamenco”. This refers to the adoption of the Flamenco Law by the regional government. With regard to the coming budgets, he said that more than 5 million euros will be allocated to the Flamenco Museum, which will be based in Jerez.
