Rocío Molina in the Jardines del Generalife

The Andalusian Agency of Cultural Institutions in collaboration with the Patronato de la Alhambra y el Generalife has been developing since 2002 the programme “Festival Lorca y Granada en los Jardines del Generalife” which, after 21 years, is still one of the main highlights of the cultural summer in Andalusia.

This year’s theatrical proposal for the cycle is a show that condenses the way of understanding dance of three geniuses: Lorca, Picasso and Saura. The choreographic direction is by Andrés Marín, the musical direction is by Daniel Doura and it is directed by Carlos Saura Medrano. Rocío Molina joins us on the 3rd, and will also perform on the 4th and 5th.

Rocío Molina has coined her own language based on the reinvented tradition of a flamenco that respects its essence and embraces the avant-garde.

Radically free, his pieces combine technical virtuosity, contemporary research and conceptual risk.

Born in Malaga in 1984, she is one of Spain’s most internationally renowned artists. National Dance Award (2010) and prizes at the Dance National British Awards, Max Prize 2019, 2017 and 2015, among others.
