In the framework of the Veranos de la Villa 2023 in Madrid, the dancer Eduardo Guerrero puts on his new show, Guerrerowhich bears his polysemous surname and follows a trajectory that began when he was just a child and with shows such as De Dolores or El callejón de los pecados. On this occasion, the dancer focuses on his relationship with women; his mother, his lovers, his friends, in that borderline territory where sentimentality coexists with sensuality, but overcomes both vital temperatures, until he finds a bridge between genders and sexes.
Escorted by the vocals of Pasión Vega and with the guitars of Javier Ibáñez and Benito Bernal, he presents a very wide range of styles: from an initial saeta to the farewell cuplés, crossing a wide range of malagueñas, fandangos, rondeñas, granaínas, verdiales, bulerías por soleá, polos, nanas, seguiriyas, serranas, tangos, zambras and alegrías. A whole anthology interpreted with Guerrero’s own accent, which becomes an allegory of his own conception of the world and the show, with a clear winner of this epic: flamenco dance.
The Vernos de la Villa de 2023 was born in 1985 with the idea of offering a quality cultural programme to those who stayed in our city during the summer months. This edition runs from 5 July to 27 August. Not all the shows are paying and we advise you to visit their website (link on the left) to see which shows are free.
