Pedro El Granaíno, Jesús Méndez, Antonio Reyes and the flamenco musical Venta de Vargas lead the lineup for the 4th edition of the Mérida Flamenco Festival, which this year pays tribute to flamenco legend Juan Peña “El Lebrijano”. From October 18 to November 8, the Teatro María Luisa will host this essential celebration of flamenco art in Extremadura.

The Mérida Flamenco Festival returns in 2025, firmly established as one of the key flamenco events in western Spain. Its fourth edition will take place entirely at the Teatro María Luisa from October 18 to November 8, showcasing major names in both traditional and contemporary flamenco.

This year’s edition pays tribute to Juan Peña “El Lebrijano”, recipient of the Festival Honorary Award, accepted by his daughter at the official presentation. A key figure in 20th-century flamenco, El Lebrijano was known for his groundbreaking approach, blending deep traditional roots with Arab-Andalusian and symphonic elements, and for his lifelong advocacy of the Romani people and flamenco culture.

The lineup promises unforgettable nights: Pedro El Granaíno, with his raw, expressive voice that transcends borders; Jesús Méndez, a powerful singer from the heart of Jerez; and Antonio Reyes, a refined artist from Cádiz known for his elegant phrasing. The festival opens with “Los Magníficos,” a showcase featuring Sandra Carrasco, La Talegona, Andrés Barrios, and David de Arahal.

One of the most anticipated moments will be the performance of Venta de Vargas – Flamenco Musical on Saturday, October 25, starring Antonio Canales, Macarena Ramírez, Carlos Carbonell, and Antonio Lizana. This show pays tribute to the iconic flamenco venue in San Fernando, blending music, dance, and storytelling to recreate its legacy. It is also available to stream on ALL FLAMENCO as a high-quality audiovisual experience.

The program continues on November 1 with Juan and Bernardo Parrilla joined by guest artist Tomasito; on November 7 with the much-awaited duet of Antonio Reyes and Pedro El Granaíno; and concludes on November 8 with Quiero Cantarte, a show by Jesús Méndez.

Organized by Mericars Tours and sponsored by the Mérida City Council, this festival aims to reinforce Mérida’s status as a global flamenco destination. Tickets will be available soon through official sales channels.

At ALL FLAMENCO, we celebrate and support this unique event. Our platform features live performances by the main artists and the complete Venta de Vargas musical, so you can enjoy the spirit of flamenco from anywhere in the world.
