San Fernando, the Island of Camarón, confirms its role as the summer epicenter of flamenco with 42 days of programming, great artists, and a strong social spirit

La Isla Ciudad Flamenca celebrated its 10th edition in style: more than 25,000 people enjoyed 42 uninterrupted days of flamenco across the streets, squares, and emblematic spaces of San Fernando.

The festival, which every summer turns the Island of Camarón into a must-visit destination for flamenco fans and newcomers alike, has once again proven that flamenco is an art for everyone.

The big nights at the Parque

Two of the festival’s most emblematic evenings returned to the Parque Auditorium.

  • Rancapino Chico led a memorable Flamenco Night, filling the venue to capacity and sharing the stage with local singers Jesús de Lucas and Carmen “La Shica”, who confirmed the strength of San Fernando’s flamenco tradition.

  • The Flamenco Dance Night brought together three major dancers who, each with their own style, created a vibrant show full of artistry, companionship, and pure flamenco.

Intimate concerts in a new setting

The La Salle School Courtyard made its debut as the venue for the festival’s intimate concerts, becoming one of the highlights of this edition. Audiences enjoyed unforgettable performances by Manolo Carrasco, Sandra Carrasco & David de Arahal, and the group La Juntera Jonda.

These concerts also had a charitable side, raising significant funds for ANDEX (Children’s Cancer Association) —a gesture that added even more value to the festival’s mission.

New spaces, new emotions

This edition also expanded into fresh locations that quickly won over the public:

  • The Plazoleta de las Vacas, which came alive with Rumbaleando.

  • The balcony at Plaza del Rey, in collaboration with La Gran Vía and La Esquina del Rey, featuring memorable performances by Anabel Rivera and Cati Ocaña, along with shows by El Mawi and Diego Santana.

  • The Balcony on Calle Las Cortes, where Alejandro Silva, Diego Santana, and El Cañejo de Barbate created an intimate, welcoming flamenco experience.

  • The Monday sessions at La Abacería, plus performances in venues like La Flamenkita, Litos Corner, and La Milonga, which brought flamenco fusion and the creativity of young talents into the spotlight.

Flamenco with soul

Iconic spaces also played a key role. The Venta de Vargas once again sold out most of its shows, confirming its status as a legendary flamenco stage. The Alameda became one of the most beloved locations, with unforgettable evenings featuring Cañejo & Adriano, Raquel La Mónica, and the powerful closing night by Lola La Chiri, a young singer who silenced critics with her talent and energy.

The Cultural Flamenco Association La Fragua also left its mark, reviving the traditional Periñaca Flamenca and hosting a joyful flamenco party in the heart of the city.

A festival for everyone
