The dancer who rose to fame in programmes such as Top Dance and Cámbiame almost “forever ago” demonstrates, programme after programme, a great talent for directing, dancing and preparing impressive scenographies. With Miradas, in addition, he is supportive.
Manuel Ramírez invites us to a historical journey through the labor difficulties experienced by women from the nineteenth century to the present. And under his direction, Miradas offers a choreography, a costume and a musical composition that will not leave you indifferent. Improvisation and feeling in the face of injustice are expressed with pure flamenco.
The path of Manuel Ramírez
Born in Chiclana (Cádiz) in 1989. Since he was eight years old, he has been playing flamenco rite. Looking for an opportunity to make himself known, he participated in several television game shows. It was in the Antena 3, Top Dance, where that opportunity appeared and, since then, he has managed to continue his path in flamenco dance by also forming his own company.
Manuel Ramírez has trained under the tutelage of greats such as Antonio El Pipa, studying at the Andalusian Dance Center of Seville with Matilde Coral, Manolete, Javier Barón or Belén Maya, among others.
At age 19, he debuted with his first solo show, “Sueño en Flamenco”. He joined the cast of the Ballet Flamenco de Sara Baras when he arrived in Madrid and has shared the stage with Antonio Canales.
In “Carmen”, he worked with Pilar Távora, a collaboration that he repeats in “Miradas: Flamenco por la igualdad”.
