During the 28th edition of SIMOF 2023, held at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos in Seville from January 26 to 29, we have seen that flamenco fashion dresses a modern and empowered woman who does not deny her femininity.
In constant evolution and change, flamenco fashion this year marks a style inspired by the 50s and 60s, which seeks harmony between the ruffles, which reach the extraordinary in the skirts and sleeves, and the marked silhouette. In fabrics, the tendency of the firms is to work with personalized and exclusive prints, with fewer polka dots and a lot of vegetal motifs, with pastel colors gaining ground over white or black, more present in other seasons. In the accessories, golden accessories and natural flowers predominate.
SIMOF has counted with exceptional international ambassadors such as the New York influencer Olivia Palermo, the models Barbara and Nicole Kimpel, or the journalist and presenter Raquel Sanchez Silva. The designer Palomo Spain, the businesswomen Genoveva Casanova, Fiona Ferrer and Arancha del Sol, and the journalist Jon Sistiaga have also acted as ambassadors of SIMOF.
Pilar Vera
The designer makes a journey through the evolution of skirts, from the classic skirts inspired by the 50’s to the more voluminous, through the canastero cut and the overlapping of tiny ruffles.
Antonio Gutiérrez
In this 2023 it maintains the aesthetics of the firm, giving relevance to the volumes in sleeves, using very elaborate patterns. This time they have introduced techniques such as laser cutting, lattice and embroidery.
Rosa Pedroche
Red, magenta and orange shades predominate, as well as black and white. And there is no shortage of Pedroche’s polka dot prints and pink lasicones.
Pilar Rubio
Pilar bets on all kinds of shapes and cuts, being again rich in pattern making, one of the most important characteristics of this designer.
T D’TOUCHÉ
Mix of classic manila shawl print with polka dots. The T D’TOUCHÉ collection ends with plain colors. It seeks a fusion between classic and modern flamenco.
Agatha Ruiz de la Prada makes her debut in flamenco fashion
The colorful Agatha Ruiz de la Prada presented her first flamenco fashion capsule collection at SIMOF, an exclusive co-creation with the designer Aurora Gaviño.
Aurora Gaviño is a veteran firm and a benchmark in flamenco fashion with 28 editions of SIMOF that
endorses the creation of a flamenco that combines tradition and avant-garde.
