The Sebastián Escudero Award for “Flamenco Excellence” was created in 2021 and to date has been received by the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas and Fosforito. This 2023, it is for Paco Cepero.
Francisco López-Cepero García, known as Paco Cepero, is a composer and guitarist from Jerez who has been linked to flamenco all his life. This is what the Lo Ferro Festival has taken into account to award him its highest recognition. To his credit, Cepero already had the “Gold Medal” of this festival in its 2016 edition.
Paco Cepero holds the National Prize of Jerez in 1975, the National Prize of Cordoba in 1977, the Castillete de Oro and Honorary Bordón at the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas de La Unión, the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts and the Gold Medal for Merit in Work.
