In 2018, on the occasion of the celebration of the XXV anniversary of its creation, the Group of World Heritage Cities of Spain launched the Heritage Night. The idea was and is to value the diversity and “living heritage” of the 15 Cities through their local talents and cultural expressions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since then, this unique event in Europe creates a space for exchange between cities declared World Heritage by UNESCO, artistic territories and diverse publics. And it brings, to the public, activities of all kinds for free!<\/span><\/p>\n

The 15 Heritage Cities are: Alcal\u00e1 de Henares, \u00c1vila, Baeza, C\u00e1ceres, C\u00f3rdoba, Cuenca, Ibiza\/ Eivissa, M\u00e9rida, Salamanca, San Crist\u00f3bal de La Laguna, Santiago de Compostela, Segovia, Tarragona, Toledo and \u00dabeda. All have prepared a Heritage Night with dozens of activities, including some dedicated to flamenco. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

More international<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This fifth edition of the Heritage Night aims to expand the international impact, which is why the Group has partnered with the World Heritage Centre, the Cervantes Institute and World Heritage Associations in Latin America. Thanks to the support of UNESCO and these associations, the broadcast will be broadcast internationally<\/strong> to promote Spanish choreographic creation and the heritage of the 15 cities outside our borders. Heritage cities from Mexico, Peru and Cuba will join<\/strong> this special night. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Heritage Night must be divided into three sections in each of the 15 cities:<\/span><\/p>\n

Contemporary dance and the living arts are the main protagonists in all their forms and genres with creations expressly in heritage spaces by artists of national and international relevance.<\/p>\n

In addition, the shows are accompanied by parallel activities such as workshops, meetings and video dance projections.<\/p>\n

Activities for the youngest and a global connection are planned. Cuba, Mexico and Peru are the countries twinned with Spain for this edition. <\/p>\n
