The winner was Jos\u00e9 Sorroche and the jury was composed of Rafael Monterreal Alem\u00e1n, Diego L\u00f3pez L\u00f3pez, Crist\u00f3bal Mu\u00f1oz Montoya, &#8220;El Ni\u00f1o de \u00c1lora&#8221; and Lucas L\u00f3pez L\u00f3pez. These people were the ones who decided at that time to create a flamenco pe\u00f1a. They started to meet twice a week in the house of one of them, shaping their association. They based their statutes on those of the Pe\u00f1a Juan Breva de M\u00e1laga and would &#8220;de alta&#8221; them under the recent Law of Associations in 1965.<\/p>\n<p>The name was to be Pe\u00f1a Fosforito, but it was Antonio Fern\u00e1ndez D\u00edaz &#8220;Fosforito&#8221; himself who advised it to be registered with the name of the cante from Almer\u00eda par excellence.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.21.0&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;43694993-03b0-434f-b7f6-92656fdaa861&#8243; text_font=&#8221;Domine||||||||&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;20px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;32em&#8221; header_2_font=&#8221;Domine|700|||||||&#8221; header_2_text_color=&#8221;#000000&#8243; background_layout=&#8221;dark&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><span>Pure flamenco history<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span>Since its formation, this Almerian pe\u00f1a has been very participative, basically because for almost a decade, it was the only registered flamenco pe\u00f1a. In addition, some of its members were founders and directors of the Andalusian Confederation of Flamenco Clubs and the Andalusian Flamenco Foundation, today the Andalusian Flamenco Centre. They are part of the foundation of the Semana Flamenca, of the Instituci\u00f3n Social para la Tercera Edad de los Artistas Flamencos (ITEAF) and of the brilliant magazine <em>Taranto<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>The memoirs published on the occasion of his 25th anniversary are pure flamenco history of Almer\u00eda. <\/span><span>In the writings of Lucas L\u00f3pez, one of the aforementioned founders, this could be a summary of the early days: <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><span>&#8220;It is difficult to highlight the main events that have taken place in the long history of our Pe\u00f1a. I dare, however, and in no particular order, to highlight a few: Antonio Mairena&#8217;s last public performance, which is commemorated by a plaque in the cisterns. This award is held by, for example, Jos\u00e9 Menese, Camar\u00f3n, Tomatito&#8230; and, of course, Fosforito, who was with the founders at the beginning and continued to be so.
