The incomparable V\u00edctor Monge Serranito toured in 2021 on the occasion of his definitive retirement from the stage. Master of the flamenco guitar, subtle, with great technique and virtuosity, this video is part of his farewell performance at one of the most beloved festivals for the artist, the Cordoba Guitar Festival.<\/p>\n

The year was 2021 and V\u00edctor Monge Serranito was saying goodbye in the best way his public could have wished for: by playing. At almost 80 years of age and 65 years on stage, the Madrid-born actor stepped onto the stage of the Gran Teatro de C\u00f3rdoba for the last time to celebrate<\/span> his last great dream: he said goodbye to the fans who had made him a revolutionary of the flamenco concert guitar. V\u00edctor Monge Serranito and the most sensitive guitar<\/h2>\n

All experts agree that he is one of the composers who takes the greatest care in the subtle and fragile balance between form and substance of his compositions, which has led him to an astonishing perfection. In 2019, he was recognised with the M<\/span>edalla de Oro de las Bellas Artes and a warm tribute from his colleagues at the Teatro Flamenco Madrid.<\/p>\n

<\/span>His life has been exciting. Andr\u00e9s Segovia admired him<\/strong> and, in 1971, in Jerez de la Frontera, he won the Flamenco Chair Prize awarded by the Chair of Flamencology. That same year, V\u00edctor Monge Serranito performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. The New York Times<\/strong> commented: “In his passages there are moments reminiscent of Bach”.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n
