“Every visit to Barcelona by José Fernández Torres, Tomatito, is a party,” say the organizers of the Barcelona Jazz Festival. And he returns to the room where he played for the first time as accompanist of Camarón de la Isla, the Palau de la Música.
This time, with the Sexteto Tomatito, which includes the dancer Karime Amaya, and a very special guest: the singer Miguel Poveda. “We will do what he wants and what I want,” Tomatito explained with a smile. “Flamenco is not competition, but collaboration, art and friendship.”
What there will be is, of course, a memory in Camarón, an iconic reference for any flamenco fan. All under the magical and curious gaze of the muses of the Palau. A great night of flamenco, of course.
The Tomatito Sextet is composed of:
Tomatito, guitar
José del Tomate, guitar
Morenito de Íllora, sing
Kiki Cortiñas, singing
Israel Suárez, Piranha, percussion
Karime Amaya, dance
Guest artist: Miguel Poveda
