This October 4 you have an appointment with the inauguration of Flamencas, the photographic exhibition of the great Paco Manzano. In it you can see images made since the 80s giving visibility to many of those legendary women who have maintained the authenticity of flamenco for decades… until today.
En Flamencas hay fotos de La Sayago, La Tomasa, María la Burra, Fernanda y Bernarda de Utrera, Blanca del Rey, La Tolea, Carmen Linares, Sara Baras, Esperanza Fernández, María Pagés ola guitarrista Antonia Jiménez, entre otras.
Paco Manzano has been the photographer of music, especially flamenco, for more than 40 years. His latest exhibitions have been dedicated to Paco de Lucia, Enrique Morente and Blanca del Rey.
He has been an Honorary Member of the San Juan Evangelista Club in Madrid and awarded the Pencho Cross del Cante de las Minas award in 2013.
His images have been covers of numerous albums by artists, such as Enrique el de Melchor, Carles Santos or Paco Vidal. Además, ha ilustrado libros especializados en flamenco y ha publicado Caballeros flamencos.
Although the date of Flamencas is well before the Suma Flamenca festival (which starts on October 17), this activity is included in it. The exhibition will be at the Ateneo until November 4.
