La Barbería del Sur returns “original” at the Milnoff Festival

On September 15, the Milnoff1922 Festival hosts the “return” of La Barbería del Sur. Pepe Luis Carmona Habichuela and Juan José Paquete Suárez, original members of this Nuevo Flamenco group, recover. Since 2020, the formation continued to act, but not with all its founders.

That’s why the show presented at Milnoff1922 is called “Origins.” In addition, with this title, La Barbería de Sur proposes to recover, with a renewed spirit, the current of New Flamenco of which it was part.

Being pioneers in the field of flamenco fusion, together with Pata Negra or Ketama, the members of La Barbería del Sur consider that they have something to contribute after more than 30 years of experience.

Remember that the formation was born in 1990 with Pepe Luis Habichuela, Josemi Carmona, Enrique Heredia El Negri and Paquete Porrina. They premiered on stage at the Madrid residence hall nicknamed “EL Johnny”, an icon of flamenco from the 70s until the XXI century.
